Dumpster Rental Guidelines
When renting a temporary dumpster, it’s important to follow certain guidelines to ensure a smooth and efficient waste disposal process:

Choose the Right Dumpster Size
Select a dumpster based on your project, the amount of waste you expect to generate, and the space available for placement. Not sure which size you need? Give us a call and we’ll help you choose.

Pick a Safe, Stable Placement Area
Choose a flat, firm surface such as a driveway or designated construction area. We can place boards beneath the rollers upon request to help protect the surface. Avoid placement over septic systems, irrigation, soft ground, or other underground utilities. Trash Box Disposal is not responsible for damage to driveways, lawns, or other areas of the property.

Keep the Dumpster Accessible
Make sure there is enough clearance for delivery and pickup. Cars, snow, equipment, building materials, or other obstacles must be moved before we arrive. The dumpster must also remain below the fill line. If we cannot safely remove the container, a $100 trip fee will apply.

Load Evenly and Do Not Overfill
Distribute materials evenly throughout the dumpster and keep all waste inside the container walls. Nothing should extend above the fill line or interfere with the doors or cover. Overfilled dumpsters may not be safe to transport and could delay pickup.

Stay Within the Weight Limit
Each dumpster includes a specific weight allowance. If your load exceeds that limit, an additional $80 per ton will apply. Heavy materials such as dirt, concrete, sand, and gravel should not be placed in the dumpster unless approved in advance.

Review Banned Items Before Loading
Certain materials cannot be accepted for safety, environmental, or disposal reasons. Review our Banned Items list before loading your dumpster. If you’re unsure about something, contact us before putting it in the container.

Rental Period & Extensions
Your dumpster rental includes up to 14 days. Need a little more time? No problem. Additional rental time is available for $20 per day after the 14th day.

Need Another Dumpster?
If your dumpster fills up before your project is finished, give us a call. We can schedule pickup of the full container and delivery of another, based on availability. Each additional dumpster is charged separately and begins a new 14-day rental period.
